All about second hand clothes

Second Hand

Second hand clothes supplied from England are characterized by a wide range of models, running sizes, a low percentage of old items and excellent quality. All second-hand clothing undergoes special sanitization and is absolutely safe for the consumer. A wide range of second-hand clothing is available in many specialized stores - jackets, coats, men's and women's trousers, children's clothing, sweaters and other knitwear, shirts, jeans and many other types of high-quality inexpensive second-hand clothing.

Categories of Second-Hand Clothes

All second-hand clothes that enter the clothing market are always sorted, in which they are divided into categories.

According to the composition, second-hand clothes are classified as follows:

  • sorting - second-hand clothes sorted according to some criteria (jackets, trousers, sweaters, etc.);
  • mix (mix) - clothes are sorted by seasons and accessories - spring, autumn, winter, children's, women's, men's;
  • original - clothes handed over in bundles, packages, not passing selection, the quality of the clothes at the same time depends on the level of the country from which the deliveries are made;
  • stock - clothes that were not in use, these can be unsold collections, models that were not sold during the season, as well as confiscated goods, the quality of second-hand clothes is maximum.

In addition, second-hand clothing is divided into the following categories by quality:

  • Lux, Extra - these are high-quality clothes without the slightest signs of wear;
  • 1st category - not torn, not dirty second-hand clothes with minimal wear;
  • 2nd category - things that are unsuitable for use may come across;
  • 3rd Category - usually it is a rag suitable for use for technical purposes.

Currently, the 1st category of second-hand clothing, and especially Lux and Extra, is popular; among the things in this category, clothes that have not been in use often come across. Now, more and more often, second-hand clothing buyers are representatives of the middle class, who do not want to buy low-quality Chinese and Turkish items that have flooded our market, but are trying to purchase high-quality clothes at a reasonable price.

All About Quality Second-Hand Clothes

All over the world for more than a hundred years there has been a trading system of discounts called second-hand. Everyone knows that there are countries with a high standard of living and countries striving for it. The level of prosperity in the so-called developed countries allows not only to buy high-quality clothes, but to regularly completely replace the entire wardrobe almost every season, and cultural principles do not allow you to simply throw away little used or never worn clothes.

In most European countries, enterprises for the collection, sorting, processing and sale of second-hand clothes have been operating for a very long time. The clothes that we see in second-hand stores make up less than a third of all clothes collected, the rest of the clothes are recycled for use as industrial raw materials or rags, or as low-grade clothes end up in countries with low levels of consumption and economic development - mainly These are Africa and Central Asia. And second-hand clothes of the Lux and Extra category, which are in maximum demand, make up only about five percent of the total mass of clothes passing through specialized sorting enterprises - its consumers are mainly the countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, although there are second-hand stores in all highly developed European countries, including countries that supply second-hand clothes for these stores.

Naturally, second-hand clothes cannot be better than new European clothes, but European-origin second-hand clothes are better and better quality than cheap Chinese and Turkish clothes in any case for many reasons. For example, in the manufacture of high-quality clothing in Europe, the production technology is observed to the smallest detail at all stages of the technological cycle, while not a single Chinese or handicraft manufacturer of cheap low-quality clothing will think about such trifles as safe dyes, allergenic properties of materials or compliance shrinkage ratios of the fabric and lining when washed. European clothing manufacturers always try to take into account these and other little things in the production of quality clothing.

Is 1 kg of Clothes a Lot or a Little?

Everyone is used to the fact that clothes are usually counted by quantity, and not by weight - one jacket, two sweaters, two trousers, two dresses. Second hand clothes are often not sold by the piece, but by weight, especially when second hand is sold in bulk or small wholesale. It is difficult for an uninformed person to navigate when evaluating second-hand clothes by weight, few people know what one kilogram of clothes is and whether it is profitable to buy second-hand clothes by weight, and not by the piece.

In those days, when the first second-hand stores just appeared in our country, all the clothes in them were sold only by weight. Over time, the assortment of second-hand stores changed for the better, and some things began to be sold by the piece - these are mainly clothes that were not used at all, coming to second-hand stores directly from store shelves. By weight, second-hand clothes of the luxury and extra categories are usually sold - clothes with a minimum degree of wear, as well as clothes of the first and second categories. The price per kilogram is determined by the category of second-hand clothes - the better the clothes, the higher the price per kilogram, of course.

One kilogram of second-hand clothes can be from two to five to six things, depending on the fabric of the clothes. For example, some jeans usually weigh four hundred to five hundred grams, a shirt - about three hundred grams, the weight of T-shirts and T-shirts does not exceed one hundred and fifty grams, and the weight of a skirt can be about three hundred to five hundred grams. Due to their size, children's clothes weigh very little, so buying second-hand children's clothes can save you a lot of money.

Why Second Hand?

Why are second-hand stores so attractive to customers? And where else can you make purchases for the whole family for a fairly modest amount, and at the same time buy high-quality, fashionable items made from natural materials from well-known European manufacturers. And, besides, second-hand clothes are almost always individual, and everyone has long been tired of the same things from the market - half the city walks in the same dresses, skirts, trousers and jackets. In second-hand stores, each item is present in one copy, and in order to find the right item, you will have to make a lot of effort, but the work will be more than rewarded.

Here is another factor that determines the popularity of second-hand clothes. It happens that a thing recently bought in an expensive store remains unworn, and it becomes a shame for the money spent in vain. Inexpensive second-hand clothes, even once worn, will immediately pay off the small costs incurred. Or, for example, no one will punish a child who has torn or soiled second-hand clothes, as would be the case with an expensive product - it is easier to go to the nearest second-hand store for another thing. Second-hand clothes make you think differently about clothes in general - clothes become a necessary, but financially not very important attribute of a person's life, and the money saved on buying second-hand clothes will be better used for family vacations or other more necessary purposes.
